Assistant Pastor

We are a fast-growing Pentecostal Church near Kingsbury, Middlesex, UK. We are looking for an Assistant Pastor (Worship Leader) to work with the Church’s Senior Pastor and as a spiritual leader of the Church Ministries. The post holder is expected to implement the Church’s Vision and Core Values while leading the daily spiritual activities of the Church as well as contributing to the ongoing spiritual development of our volunteer-based Ministry teams.

This position will oversee the daily spiritual activities of the Church under the Senior Pastor and be a key leader in providing pastoral care to the Church and Church Ministries.

Responsibilities
  1. Reporting: Directly reporting to the Senior Pastor/Minister about daily spiritual activities of the Church.

  2. Pastoral Care Responsibility:-The post holder will have pastoral care responsibilities as the Senior Pastor directs. The post holder must act as an assistant to the Senior Pastor/Minister in the Church’s day-to-day spiritual activities, lead other Ministry teams, and assist the members of the Church in spiritual matters as and when required by the Senior Pastor/Minister.

  3. Responsibilities concerning the Church Services: The post holder will be leading the worship team at Sunday services and weekly prayer meetings.  You will be conducting Pastoral counselling as and when required. You will be leading the regular outreach team as and when required by the Senior Pastor/Minister. You will be organising the regular church services except Sunday Services and pre-planned programmes of the Church. You will be making house visits as and when required and/or directed by the Senior Pastor/Minister. You will be conducting area cell group prayer meetings. You will be mentoring the Cell Group leaders and leaders of different Church Ministries as and when required. The Assistant Pastor of the Church will have the responsibility of mentoring youths in the Church and he/she will be supporting their activities and programmes in connection with the Church. You will be preparing weekly and monthly reports on the spiritual progress of the Church.

  4. Bible studies: You will be teaching New/Old Testament subjects to Church members at various platforms. Prepare and Produce Study Materials for different groups of the Church, Study Classes and Youth Groups.

Qualifications

Essential : 

  • Post Holder must be a born-again Pentecostal Christian
  • Post Holder must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any Christian Theological Subjects
  • Post Holder must be an Ordained minister of any Pentecostal Church in India or England.

Desirable : 

  • Accreditation in Ministerial work in the UK.
  • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Psychology.
Language proficiency:

 

  • Malayalam: The post holder will be working mostly within the Malayalam-speaking community in the United Kingdom and the Malayalam speaking skill is a mandatory requirement for this post.
  • Hindi : The post holder will be working with Hindi-speaking Indian and British nationals in the UK and should be highly proficient in speaking.
  • English: The post holder will be working occasionally with English-speaking other nationals in the UK and hence will need to be highly proficient in conversing and communication efficiently.
  • Biblical Hebrew and Greek: Knowledge of reading and writing will be a desirable qualification.
Other Skills / Gifts
  • The post holder must have bible teaching skills
  • The post holder must possess good organisational skills and skills to motivate others and lead Christian Ministries.
  • The post holder should have intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products and email usage as the post holder will be preparing and producing electronic reports and communicating with the Senior Pastor/Minister and Trustees of the Church.

  • Theology is incarnated in his/her life (not just stored in his/her mind)

Work Experience
  • Five or more years experience in pastoral care (or equivalent) in a Malayalam Christian spiritual environment, with preference given for candidates with non-profit or Church experience
  • Two or more years of experience must be as a Pastor working among communities speaking any of the Indian languages preferably Malayalam or Hindi Speaking Community in India or the UK.
  • Familiarity with the following areas desired: Fasting, Praying, Church Missions, Evangelism, Cell Group Creation and Organisation
