Pastor Thomas Samuel

( WorD OF HOPE CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP – LUTON)

Pastor Thomas Samuel has been serving the Lord for over 20 years in various capacities. He is a former lecturer at the IPC Seminary, Kottayam. Along with pastoral ministry he is also involved in teaching and in the youth ministry. He also serves as a Chaplain in NHS along with his ministry in the Church. He has earned an M.Phil in the area of early Pentacostalism and Luke- Acts ( London School of Theology) and a postgraduate degree in the field of Sociology. He is married to Praisy and they are blessed with three children Barnabas, Michelle and Christopher.

In the early 2000’s, there were only a few churches in London that catered to the spiritual needs of the South Indian Pentecostal Community. Pastor Jaise George was guided by the Holy Spirit to start a fellowship to enable people from the community to come together and worship the Lord in Truth and Spirit. The members organised the initial meetings at their various houses from late 2003. To enhance his proficiency in the Word of God, pastor Jaise joined the local AOG bible college. After successfully graduating from the Bible School, he  was ordained as an Assemblies of God minister by Pastor Ian.

As part of His provision for this growing church, God opened the doors of St. John’s Church, Wembley and the first Sunday Worship Service of WCF was conducted on 21st Aug 2005. The close proximity of the Church to Wembley High Street helped spread the news of the existence of the new Church and God brought in many through its doors in the following months. As the church grew, the need of a new place became inevitable and was relocated to the Dennis Jackson Centre in 2008. The church relocated again to the Sattavis Patidar Centre for a brief period during which an intense search for a permanent place was underway. In 2012 the Lord, opened a way by which the church was relocated to  Uxendon Hall on Preston Road.  With rapid growth of the church, the church yet again moved to a larger premises in Kingsbury in October, 2023.

One of the visions while planting the church was to stimulate a deep burden for the lost and generate (support) mission workers to reach out to the unsaved. As mentioned in the scriptures, “Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few; therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest”. (Luke 10:2). The first mission trip to India was organised in 2009 and ever since then, church has been actively supporting and ministering to the various mission stations that are spread across North India.
